SUMMARY:2024 IRC Significant Changes (Online Live)
DESCRIPTION:This class reviews and analyzes selected significant changes from the 2021 IRC to the 2024 IRC. It familiarizes building officials\, fire officials\, plans examiners\, inspectors and design professionals with many of the significant changes in the 2024 IRC. It assists code users in identifying the specific code changes that have occurred\, and more importantly\, understanding the reason behind the change. Changes to building\, energy\, mechanical\, fuel gas\, plumbing and electrical requirements are discussed. Finally\, the seminar focuses on those code changes selected due to their frequency of application\, special significance or change in application. This course uses the Significant Changes to the International Residential Code 2024 Edition as its basis.

DESCRIPTION:Part 1 of this 6-part series will provide information to assist building officials during the plan review process on the proper evaluation of structural loads per the 2024 International Building Codeо (IBCо) and the IBC-referenced 2022 ASCE/SEI 7 Minimum Design Loads and Associated Criteria for Buildings and Other Structures (ASCE 7-22). This presentation covers load paths and load combinations used in allowable stress design and strength design. Also discussed are risk categories assigned to buildings based on hazards associated with their damage or failure by nature of their occupancy or use.
