SUMMARY:GlobalABC Adaptation Working Group’s Free Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Benchmark analysis of resilience evaluation methodologies and case studies of exemplary adaptation actions: the work of the Global ABC Adaptation Working Group  \nThe Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC) is an international organization that promotes adaptation and resilience in the built environment. The International Code Council is an active member of GlobalABC and serves as a co-chair of the Adaptation Working Group\, which focuses specifically on the resilience of the building sector to climate change on a global scale.   \nAhead of the COP27\, the Adaptation Working Group has produced two major pieces of work: (i) a panorama of resilience assessment methodologies for the buildings and construction sector\, and (ii) a collection of exemplary case studies of innovative and reproducible adaptation actions that build upon previous work by this working group.  \nThis document seeks to address the questions:  \n\nWhat trends are emerging in terms of risk evaluation globally?  \nAre all risks equally assessed?  \nWhat are the relevant indicators?  \nHow to act quickly and decisively to answer the ever-changing challenges of adaptation to climate change? \n\nThe International Code Council invites its members and stakeholders to learn more during the GlobalABC Adaptation Working Group’s free webinar on November 4th at 1pm CET (7am ET).  \nRegister for event here : https://forms.gle/hmcc3c9xYfNcisM89

SUMMARY:Deadline for Extended Call for Committee
DESCRIPTION:The International Code Council invites you to consider two upcoming calls for committee members. The committees will develop two new ANSI/ICC standards that\, once published\, will be groundbreaking for the industry: \n1. The Sizing Water Distribution\, Drainage and Venting Standard Consensus Committee (IS-SWDDV) will be responsible for developing ICC 815-202X (Standard for Sizing Water Distribution\, Sanitary Drainage and Vent Piping Systems). This new international standard will take a holistic worldwide approach to sizing water distribution\, sanitary drainage\, and vent piping systems for residential\, mixed-use\, and institutional occupancies that utilizes a sizing method that has no basis on Hunter’s Method and accounts for post-COVID-19 usage patterns. \n2. The Private Sewage Disposal Systems Standard Consensus Committee (IS-PSDS) will be responsible for developing ICC 825-202X (Private Sewage Disposal Systems). This new international standard will provide minimum requirements for designing\, constructing\, operating\, and maintaining private sewage disposals systems based on newer technologies and methods\, and most importantly\, the impacts of climate change. \nWe hope you will consider lending your expertise to one or both. \nIf you are interested in participating\, please click here and fill out the application(s). The application deadline has been extended to October 30\, 2022.

SUMMARY:Application Deadline for ICC Call for Committees
The application deadline is September 30\, 2022.
