SUMMARY:IAS APAC Meeting
DESCRIPTION:IAS is Hosting the 2023 Asia Pacific Accreditation Body Cooperation (APAC) Annual Meeting\, June 23-July 1\, 2023\, at the JW Marriott Resort in Anaheim\, California. \nAPAC is an organization of accreditation bodies in the Asia Pacific Region that work together to mutually recognize accreditations for testing laboratories\, inspection agencies and certification bodies. This work affords companies the ability to trade in a wide range of regions and removes the tedious\, lengthy\, and costly process of having to re-test or re-inspect for accreditation in each market. APAC is recognized by the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) as one of four APEC Specialist Regional Bodies (SRBs) that support the work of the APEC Sub-Committee on Standards and Conformance. \nThe APAC meeting provides a common platform for accreditation bodies in the APAC region to discuss policy matters\, harmonize accreditation practices and more importantly\, manage the Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRAs). The attendees at this meeting will be the leadership from the accreditation bodies in 38 economies that accredit testing laboratories\, inspection agencies and other companies that impact the safety and quality of products. \nThis will be the first time in 20 years that the APAC Annual Meeting has taken place in the United States.
