DESCRIPTION:This class reviews and analyzes selected significant changes from the 2021 IRC to the 2024 IRC. It familiarizes building officials\, fire officials\, plans examiners\, inspectors and design professionals with many of the significant changes in the 2024 IRC. It assists code users in identifying the specific code changes that have occurred\, and more importantly\, understanding the reason behind the change. Changes to building\, energy\, mechanical\, fuel gas\, plumbing and electrical requirements are discussed. Finally\, the seminar focuses on those code changes selected due to their frequency of application\, special significance or change in application. This course uses the Significant Changes to the International Residential Code 2024 Edition as its basis. The goal of Significant Changes to the International Residential Code® 2024 Edition is to familiarize building officials\, fire officials\, plans examiners\, inspectors\, design professionals\, contractors\, and others in the construction industry with many of the important changes in the 2024 International Residential Code® (IRC®). This class is designed to assist those code users in identifying the specific code changes that have occurred and understanding the reasons behind the change.

DESCRIPTION:The International Building Code requires that the design professional in charge create a Statement of Special Inspections (SSI) for each project. This seminar will discuss each component of the SSI\, including types of inspections\, the extent of these inspections\, and the frequency at which they should be provided. DESCRIPTION:This course introduces the 2020 edition of the ICC 600 Standard for Residential Construction in High Wind Regions which is referenced by the 2024 I-Codes. The 2020 ICC 600 specifies prescriptive methods for residential construction\, Group R-2 and R-3 buildings\, to provide wind resistant designs and construction details for residential buildings of masonry\, concrete\, wood-framed or cold-formed steel framed construction sited in high-wind regions where design wind speeds are 120 to 180 mph. This course begins by providing an overview of the code provisions found within the 2024 IBC that establish when and where the prescriptive measures of the ICC 600 apply. This course then goes on to provide an overview of the key provisions and requirements within the ICC 600.
