SEAONC Wind Seminar
November 7, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
There’s still time to register for SEAONC’s two-night Fall Seminar on the SEAOC Wind Design Manual and updates to the wind code. The seminar is Thursday evenings, 5:15-9:00 p.m. Nov. 7 and 14, at the PG&E Auditorium, 77 Beale St., San Francisco. Attendees on the first night will have the option of ordering the Wind Design Manual onsite at a reduced rate, for pick-up on the second night. Click here for more information or to register.
The Wind Design Manual provides examples on wind design to illustrate the practical requirements of provisions in ASCE 7-16. The examples illustrate code-compliant designs engineered to achieve good performance under wind loading. For the first time in a book designed to be used nationally, the Manual covers wind, seismic and gravity loading for photo voltaic panels.
Developed by the Wind Design Manual Task Group of the Structural Engineers Association of California SEAOC, the publication draws on the expertise of invited authors from various parts of the United States. The Wind Design Manual includes example problems for a variety of geographic areas and is intended for use nationwide. The examples cover a wide range of topics: General topics (4 examples), Special topics (2 examples), Buildings (3 examples), Solar PV system (7 examples). All resemble the format of the SEAOC Structural Seismic Design Manuals.
