SUMMARY:2024 IBC Transition from the 2018 IBC (Nonstructural) (Live Online)
DESCRIPTION:This seminar will assist participants in implementing the transition from the 2018 IBC to the 2024 IBC. It will include relevant changes in both the 2021 and 2024 editions. This interactive training will focus on the intent and application of the new and revised requirements with an emphasis on fire- and life-safety provisions. During this training\, participants will be listening to lecture and engaging in class discussion. Upon completion of the course\, students will be able to better apply the 2024 IBC in the design\, plan review\, and/or inspection of buildings.

DESCRIPTION:This class will assist participants in implementing the transition from the 2021 International Energy Conversation Code® (IECC®) to the 2024 edition. Course materials will focus on the key changes to the commercial provisions\, reasoning behind the changes\, and the impact these changes have on the implementation and enforcement of the energy code. New topics incorporated into the 2024 IECC will be discussed including thermal bridging\, total system performance ratio\, and renewable and load management credits. In addition\, participants will receive a broad overview of the IECC\, including its scope and application\, to provide context to the topics under discussion.

DESCRIPTION:This 6-hour seminar reviews and analyzes selected significant changes from the 2018 IRC to the 2024 IRC. It familiarizes building officials\, fire officials\, plans examiners\, inspectors and design professionals with many of the significant changes in the 2024 and 2021 IRC. It assists code users in identifying the specific code changes that have occurred\, and more importantly\, understanding the reason behind the change. Finally\, it focuses on those code changes selected due to their frequency of application\, special significance or change in application. This course uses the Significant Changes to the International Residential Code\, 2024 and 2021 Editions as its basis.

SUMMARY:Introduction to OpenSees for Structural-Engineering Professionals
DESCRIPTION:OpenSees for Structural-Engineering Professionals is a two-hour\, practice-oriented introduction to nonlinear structural analysis using the OpenSees framework. Participants will learn how modern finite-element modeling concepts—materials\, sections\, geometric transformations\, and beam-column formulations—translate directly into OpenSees’ scripting workflow. Through examples drawn from reinforced-concrete and steel systems\, the webinar shows how axial–moment interaction\, plastic-hinge formation\, distributed plasticity\, and fiber-section discretization influence both model fidelity and computational performance. \nIn addition to core modeling mechanics\, the session will present the different ways engineers can run OpenSees\, including the Tcl interpreter\, the Python interpreter (OpenSeesPy)\, and hybrid workflows that blend interactive notebooks with scripted simulations. Participants will also see how these models scale from laptops to distributed high-performance computing (HPC) systems\, enabling large\, multi-record\, or parametric studies to run efficiently across many processors.
