Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What if I have problems with my login?
A: There are two ways of logging in. Members of ICC may already know the e-mail version of their login, which is their e-mail address and password. If you do NOT know that login, simply use the certification search link on the login page to log in with your Certification Number and zip code. Enter your Certification Number (without any leading zeroes) and your zip code, and you can log in that way.
Do not create a new account on the renewal site, as this new account will not link you to your existing information.

Q: I’m logged in. Now what do I do?
A: Access the new module in MyICC by clicking here.

Q: How do I keep track of my earned CEUs?
A: If you use the online system, you can enter your CEUs as you earn them throughout the year – no more trying to remember when you took a class or seminar. Simply enter the information just as you would on the paper application, and they’ll be ready when you need to submit your renewal application.

Q: I don’t see my particular certification available for online renewal. Where is it?
A: Most ICC certifications are available to be renewed online.  However, there are three groups that cannot be renewed online:  NAFED (FE, FK, FN) and most UST certifications (except for UI).  Those categories cannot be renewed online.

Q: I don’t see my old (expired) certification available for online renewal. Where is it?
A: If your certification is in an inactive status, when you select the Submit Renewal Application, it will be available to renew. You will be able to select it if the expiration date is less than 6 years from the date of processing your renewal application.

Q: Can I renew just some of my certifications, or am I forced to renew them all at once?
A: Just as with the paper application, you can renew whichever certifications you want online.

Q: What if I have multiple certifications with different expiration dates?
You have the option of having one expiration date for all your certifications. However, when you combine dates, you will be required to waive the full three-year period of active status for some of your certifications. All of your certifications that are selected to renew will automatically be issued with the same date, which will be the date of processing.

Q: How much does it cost to renew my certification online?
A: For now, renewing online costs exactly the same as it does via the paper application. Starting January 1, 2016, the fee for the paper-and-pencil application option increased an additional $20 for this option.

Q: How quickly is my application processed?
A: Your certifications are renewed immediately, which is one huge benefit of the new modules. You will see your new certification expiration date on our online search for certified professionals immediately after your online renewal application is processed. ICC Certification staff reviews submissions, and all applications are auditable, as before.

Q: Do I have to renew online, or can I still use the paper application?
A: You can still use the paper application. The fee for the paper application option is an additional $20, but both online and paper options will continue to be available.

Q: How can I get a receipt?
A: You will get a receipt immediately after paying for your certification renewal online. You can always return to the "My Transactions, Status" link to retrieve a copy of your paid invoice for your records.

Q: Is the online renewal system secure?
A: Absolutely. The site is password-protected and encrypted for your security.
