Building safety in Korea is the responsibility of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) and the Korean Construction Standard Center (KCSC) which operates under MOLIT. Numerous US-developed international standards are referenced in Korean building regulations, including those developed by ASTM, ASHRAE, and ACI. The Acts and Decrees governing building and fire safety in Korea are available online in English. Relevant texts include the Building Act, Enforcement Decree of the Building Act, Firefighting Industry Promotion Act, the Act on Fire Prevention and Installation, Maintenance and Safety Control of Fire-Fighting Systems, and the Firefighting System Installation Business Act.
