The ICC 500 Committee for Storm Shelters has completed the 2nd meeting for reviewing the committee and public comments to the first draft of the 2020 edition. The ICC 500 2nd draft is now available for public comments. See the documents under Draft Development for the Public Input Agenda for instructions on how to submit a public comment, the final report of the committee actions on the first draft and the 2nd draft for public comments. The draft is in legislative format (i.e. strike out/underline) showing the revisions of ICC 500 2014 edition. The red text is the modifications based on public comments. Only red text is open for the 2nd round of public comments. The deadline for receipt of the 2nd round of public comments is August 10, 2020.
Once the ballots and public comments are received, the ICC 500 Committee will be meeting via teleconference on every Wednesday from 1 to 5 Eastern, starting August 12, 2020. The plan is for 4 meetings to produce a final draft. For additional information see the meeting notice. ICC 500 Public Input Agenda Available.
The ICC adheres to openness and transparency in our Standards development process. All ICC Standards committee meetings are open to the public. Any interested party can participate in committee meetings and can be considered by the committee for membership on any work-group that the committee creates. Interested parties will be notified by email of standards activities related to, IS-STM including committee meetings, sub-group meetings and the availability of standard development documentation.
