ICC’s 2025 Annual Conference is just around the corner, but it’s not too late to register and enjoy some of the most anticipated events.

The International Code Council’s 2025 Annual Conference is just around the corner, but it’s not too late to register and enjoy some of the most anticipated events. 

As building safety professionals are finishing up any last-minute travel plans, here we’ve curated a list of conference highlights to look forward to. Besides the Annual Business Meeting, Awards Luncheon and “The Enchanted Night” Gala, below are fan-favorite events and some new additions you won’t want to miss! 

Career Zone 

Sunday, Oct. 19 from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 20 from 2 p.m. – 7 p.m.  

Upgrade your social media and professional accounts with a free professional headshot offered at the career zone. It is first come, first serve. The Career Zone will also feature a resume review and job board. 

Welcome to Cleveland 

Sunday, Oct. 19 from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. 

Enjoy an evening of fun and live music at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, brought to you by the Host Chapter, Ohio Building Officials Association, and the OBOA Foundation.

Technicolor Transport Challenge 

Monday, Oct. 20 from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.   

Test your team’s creativity with a new hands-on problem-solving event! Each team is challenged to design and build a working machine that will transport any of the four fluids to any of the twelve spots identified within the construction zone using only a combination of valves to make the colors flow correctly. 

Expo Talks  

Sunday, Oct. 19 from 3:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 20 from 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.   

Learn the latest and greatest in building safety technology in quick hit 30-minute presentations taking place in the Expo Hall. Each session will be worth .05 ICC CEUs. Topics include disaster planning and resilience, educating the next generation and housing affordability. Learn more here. 

“I built this!”  

Monday, Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.  

ICC partnered with ConstructReach, a construction industry workforce development initiative and consultancy, to host this work-based learning event in the exhibit hall. Students will participate in hands-on activities and interactive demos led by construction professionals as well as get the opportunity to discuss career pathways with industry experts. Volunteers are needed to lead student groups, set up/break down materials, distribute PPE, assemble gift bags and more

First Timers, Honorary Members, Global Attendees and Building Safety Leadership Experience (BSLE) Welcome Reception 

Sunday, Oct. 19 from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. 

Here’s a chance for first-time attendees, international guests and BSLE participants to kick things off by meeting each other and talking with Honorary Members about all things building safety. 

Contact Tamika Dunning, Code Council Manager of Member Services, for all first-timer questions and assistance. 

WICED/PTN/ICC Day of Service Volunteer Outing 

Saturday, Oct. 18 from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. 

On Saturday, Oct. 18, Conference attendees have the opportunity to volunteer at Fisher House and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Ohio (RMHC). Volunteers will be assisting with property maintenance at both Cleveland and Akron locations. This day of service is put on by Women in Code Enforcement Development (WICED), PermitTechNation (PTN) and ICC. 

All volunteers will earn 0.7 ICC CEUs. Bus transportation, lunch and a special volunteer T-shirt will be provided. 

Building Tours 

Sunday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.  

Building Tour #1 – Rock & Roll Hall of Fame – 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. 

Designed by I. M. Pei and structurally engineered by Leslie E. Robertson Associates, the building rises above the shores of Lake Erie. It is a combination of geometric forms and cantilevered spaces that are anchored by a 162-foot tower. The tower supports a dual-triangular-shaped glass “tent” that extends (at its base) onto a 65,000-square-foot plaza that provides a main entry facade. The building houses more than 55,000 square feet of exhibition space, as well as administrative offices, a store, and a café. 

Building Tour #2 –UNIVERSITY CIRCLE History + Architecture Tour – 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. 

This tour of Ohio’s “most spectacular square mile” University Circle is guided by Take a Hike®. Known for its fascinating history and recently named the Nation’s top cultural district, University Circle is Cleveland’s largest concentration of economic, culture, education and medical facilities.  

Building Tour #3 –INTRO Cleveland – 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. 

Situated in the lively streets of Market District, tour this nine-story building that showcases CLT floors with exposed ceilings and a rooftop swimming pool. In collaboration with the client and architect, the structural engineer provided specialty timber engineering services to develop an efficient mass timber structural system comprised of CLT floor panels supported on finely detailed glulam beams and columns.

Building Tour #4 –Historic Downtown Cleveland Historic Preservation + Architecture Tour – 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. 

Explore the heart of Cleveland through its bold urban planning, historic architecture and dynamic revitalization. This guided tour begins at the 1903 Mall Plan, one of the best-preserved examples of the City Beautiful Movement. We’ll continue up Euclid Avenue, once dubbed the “Showplace of America,” later transformed into a thriving commercial corridor. Its architectural legacy helped spark the nation’s largest theater restoration and Cleveland’s most ambitious adaptive reuse projects. Discover the stories behind downtown’s landmark buildings—each a testament to the city’s evolving identity and enduring investment.
