Public Comment Is Open for the 2027 International Energy Conservation Code
The International Code Council has released the 2025 Public Comment Draft for the 2027 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). This draft contains proposed legislative changes from the 2024 IECC and is available in electronic format only.
Public comment is open only on substantive technical changes identified in this draft. New proposed text appears in blue or gray and deleted text appears as struck through. The draft can be accessed at 2025 Public Comment Draft for the 2027 International Energy Conservation Code. The public comment period will open on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, and will close on Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.
Public comments will be accepted through energy.cdpACCESS.com only. Following review and consideration of all submitted comments, the IECC Consensus Committees will determine the final code content of the 2027 IECC in accordance with ICC Consensus Procedures. Initial action on submitted comments is tentatively scheduled to conclude by April 24, 2026. Subcommittee and Consensus Committee meetings are open to all participants, with public notice provided in accordance with ICC procedures.
