As the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code (ISPSC) continues to sweep the nation as the most dominant model swimming pool code, the International Code Council is preparing for an increase in training requests.

The Government Relations PMG (plumbing, mechanical and fuel gas) Resource Team provided a Train the Trainer class at the Permitting Services Department in the city of Orlando, Fla., on Feb. 14, 2020. Trainers from across the country participated in this all-day event. States represented were California, Texas, Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Florida. The event was facilitated by Senior Director of PMG Resources Lee Clifton and Ken Greggory of the Pentair Corporation, who instructed the course.

The new, updated, six-hour seminar introduces participants to the 2018 ISPSC and is designed to address the needs of code officials, plan examiners, contractors, installers, architects and pool builders. The seminar includes information regarding energy, barriers, suction entrapment and circulation systems, and much more. The course also discusses the benefits of adopting the all-encompassing ISPSC and what it means for enforcement agencies.
