5 Resolutions Approved By Membership at 2023 Code Council Annual Business Meeting

In accordance with Council Policy 23, five resolutions were submitted by the ICC Resolutions Committee for consideration by the membership at the 2023 Code Council Annual Business Meeting on Oct. 9, 2023, in St. Louis, Mo.  

Members of the ICC Resolutions Committee are appointed annually by the Code Council Board of Directors President. Each year, the committee prepares the Resolutions of the Members and presents them to the membership for its approval at the Annual Business Meeting.

All five presented resolutions, as detailed below, were ratified by the membership during this year’s Annual Business Meeting. 

Serving with Resolutions Committee Chair Alan Boswell on this year’s ICC Resolutions Committee were Code Council Board Directors Shirley Ellis, Ron Hampton, and Jim Sayers. 

2023 Resolutions of the Members 

Resolution 2023–1, Concerning the Conference Site, which expresses sincere thanks and appreciation to the members of the Missouri Association of Building and Fire Officials for their friendship and hospitality during the International Code Council Annual Conference in St. Louis, Mo., on Oct. 8–11, 2023. 

Resolution 2023–2, Concerning Deceased Members and Colleagues, which pays tribute to the memory of departed members and colleagues. 

Resolution 2023–3, Concerning the Committees, Councils, and Annual Conference Committee, which expresses sincere thanks and appreciation to the members of the Annual Conference Committee who contributed their time and knowledge to the membership councils and committees in certification and testing, standards and code development, government relations, training and education, technical services, and Code Council subsidiaries. 

Resolution 2023–4, Concerning the Immediate Past President, which expresses the sincere gratitude and appreciation of the membership to Immediate Past President Cindy Davis for her dedicated service to the members of the International Code Council during her years of service on the Board of Directors. 

Resolution 2023–5, Concerning Retired Members, which extends the sincere appreciation to those members recently retired for their contributions to the safety and security of the public in the built environment.
