ICC’S Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas Team Seeks New Strategic Development Director

Due to an increase in interest and activity, the International Code Council’s Plumbing, Mechanical & Fuel Gas group (PMG), is currently seeking a candidate for a Director level position. Working under the immediate supervision of the PMG Executive Director, this position will be responsible for providing technical support to ICC Members, the industry and staff, and represent ICC on industry committees, task groups, and other like association meetings. The position will also require collaboration with internal units regarding technical and regulatory affairs in the United States and globally for the purpose of introducing the International codes, raising awareness, creating opportunities, and enhancing relationships with industry organizations to improve the industry.

Additionally, the Director will support and create new opportunities for the adoption of the International codes while maintaining strong and impactful relationships with ICC Membership, building officials, inspectors, contractors, manufacturers, local trade associations and allied organizations.

The candidate will possess proficient skills and/or experience in:

• Working knowledge of construction codes and standards pertinent to plumbing, mechanical, fuel gas and energy.
• Public speaking.
• Technical writing, including research.
• Development of peripheral documents, curriculum, code comparisons, PowerPoint.
• Presentations and media articles.
• Oral and written communication.
• Microsoft Office applications.

The ideal candidate will also have experience in one or more of the following:

• Mechanical Engineering.
• Energy code and standards proficiency.
• Sustainability.
• PMG related education or training.
• Relative industry experience.
