Call for Committee: Consensus Committee on Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities
The application deadline for the Consensus Committee on Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities of ICC A117.1 is August 31, 2026.
The International Code Council (ICC) is currently seeking stakeholders, including but not limited to manufacturers, builders, testing laboratories, governmental regulators, users, and individuals representing organizations for persons with disabilities to apply for the Consensus Committee on Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities (IS-A117).
The application deadline is Aug. 31, 2026.
Once appointed, the committee will convene to develop ICC A117.1 in accordance with ICC’s ANSI Accredited procedures (CP-12A). Any stakeholder is welcome to apply, and ICC membership is not required.
The Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities committee functions to maintain and develop ICC A117.1, which provides the technical requirements necessary to make sites, facilities, buildings and elements accessible to and usable by individuals with physical disabilities. The intent of the standard is to support independent access, allowing individuals with physical disabilities to approach, enter and use the built environment without assistance.
