ICC Supports Design & Construction Week, Prepares for Special Industry Events
The International Code Council (ICC) has joined more than 20 associations and industry groups as Supporting Organizations for Design & Construction Week for the second annual gathering of the largest-ever residential construction exposition in the nation. During the exposition, the ICC and ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) will host a special industry event to talk about how ICC and ICC-ES benefit the industry.
“At the International Builders’ Show, the Code Council and ICC-ES have an exceptional opportunity to meet, talk and educate top industry leaders about the importance of codes and standards to safety and resilience,” said ICC Board of Directors President Guy Tomberlin. “We also will be showcasing the 2015 I-Codes, how ICC-ES reports support manufacturers and the Solar Rating and Certification Corporation, the newest member of the ICC family of companies.”
In 2014, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) launched Design & Construction Week in Las Vegas as the International Builders’ Show (IBS) and the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) co-located for the first time, along with the International Window Coverings Expo (IWCE). Building on that success, additional organizations have become part of Design & Construction Week in 2015. In addition to IBS, KBIS and IWCE, the International Surface Event—made up of SURFACES, StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas and TileExpo, and Las Vegas Market—the West’s most comprehensive furniture, home décor and gift show will take part in Design & Construction Week, Jan. 18-23, in Las Vegas.
Supporting Organization members will participate in the Design & Construction Week Roundtable to discuss trends in the U. S. housing market and exchange ideas with other industry notables.
“Design & Construction Week is going to be the biggest event of its kind, offering attendees access to nearly every facet of the residential housing and design industry, all in one city,” said NAHB CEO Jerry Howard. “With education, products, networking opportunities and much more, industry professionals will not want to miss this mega-event.”
“We are so pleased that these prestigious events have agreed to join the 2015 Design & Construction Week,” said NKBA CEO Bill Darcy. “Having all five events in one city, over one week provides such great value for the design and building community.”
