Apply Now for the Code Council’s Code of Honor Scholarship
This scholarship is a key benefit of Code Council membership as it provides individuals the opportunity to actively participate in the development of building codes through the CAH.
The Code of Honor Scholarship from the International Code Council offers Governmental Member Voting Representatives (GMVR) funding to attend the Code Council’s 2025 Committee Action Hearings (CAH) for Group B Codes #2, October 22–30, 2025, in Cleveland, Ohio.
This scholarship is a key benefit of Code Council membership as it provides individuals with the opportunity to actively participate in the development of building codes through the CAH and supports professional development.
This involvement is essential to the code development process, ensuring that everyone has a voice in shaping regulations that protect the health, safety and welfare of people by creating safe buildings and communities.
The application period for the 2025 Committee Action Hearings (Group B #2) which will be held from October 22–30, in Cleveland, is now open. The application deadline is July 17, 2025.
Scholarship Categories
Applicants may apply for more than one type of Code of Honor scholarship in any given cycle; however, only one scholarship per year will be awarded to each award winner.
Please note, only validated GMVR will be considered for scholarships.
Scholarships providing up to $2,000 reimbursement:
- Architect Leaders – GMVR who are licensed architects (financial support by the AIA).
- Emerging Leaders – GMVR who have served their jurisdiction between 4 and 9 years.
- Future Leaders – GMVR who are new to the profession, serving less than four years.
- International Leaders – GMVR who reside outside of the United States.
- Small Town Leaders – GMVR whose city or county population is 50,000 or less.
- Veteran Leaders – GMVR who have served their jurisdiction for 10 years or more. Membership in the Legacy organizations will be counted toward the years served.
Scholarships providing up to $1,000 reimbursement
- Match Scholarship –GMVR who have a 50% financial match from their Code Council Chapter, Jurisdiction or personal. Click here for Code Council Chapters.
