2026-2029 Code Action Committee Meetings Scheduled for September
Dates regarding the upcoming Code Action Committee meetings are set to take place towards the end of the summer season.
The next ICC Action Committee (CAC) meetings are scheduled for later this summer. Following the appointment of the 2026–2029 Code Action Committees, the Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas Code Action Committee (PMGCAC), Fire Code Action Committee (FCAC), and Building Code Action Committee (BCAC) will hold in-person meetings in Rosemont, Illinois, from Sept. 9–11, 2026. The meetings will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago O’Hare, located at 5460 N. River Road, Rosemont, Illinois. Meetings will begin at 8:00 A.M. Central on Wednesday, Sept. 9, and conclude no later than noon on Friday, Sept. 11.
These code action committees are held to present new code change proposals, develop testimony for hearings, and review public comments to help shape future editions of model building safety codes within ICC. These action committee meetings directly influence the safety and well-being of approximately two billion people worldwide, ensuring that communities benefit from up-to-date, effective building codes.
Code Action Committees (CACs)
Code Action Committees (CACs) are code discipline-specific committees whose purposes are to enhance the technical requirements of the International Codes® (I-Codes®) and, secondarily, to hone the capabilities of committee members for possible future appointments to code development committees (CDCs). More details on the CACs can be found in ICC’s Council Policy 31.
Those who are unable to attend the CAC meetings in person will have the option to join virtually. Additional links for the virtual meeting will be posted in upcoming agendas.
Note: All current committee members must reapply to be considered for reappointment.
