  • Quick Hits

The International Code Council’s Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas (PMG) Technical Resource Team is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of professionals in the trades. By partnering with organizations such as the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), SkillsUSA, Women in Piping and Plumbing (WiPP) and Service Titan’s National HVAC and Plumbing Competition, the Code Council is actively involved at both local and national levels

Additionally, as a sponsor Season 5 of Pfister Faucet’s docuseries, American Plumber Stories, which recently featured a journey to Australia, the Code Council is fostering a global appreciation for the trades. Learn more about American Plumber Stories here.

A Strong Commitment to Continuing Education

The Code Council’s PMG Technical Resource Team plays a vital role in the development and sustainability of continuing education and training programs on a state and regional level.

The team is a readily available resource to discuss how to meet the unique educational needs of various states and regions. As dedicated providers of continuing education, the Code Council is instrumental in developing state-specific programs for numerous licensing entities and organizations.

For instance, in New Hampshire, support is offered to the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification (OPLC) by providing the state-mandated six hours of annual mechanical continuing education required to maintain plumbing or fuel gas licenses. Collaborative support is also provided to local chapters of the Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC).

These partnerships highlight the Code Council’s commitment to enhancing the professional development of individuals across the United States, ensuring they meet licensing requirements and stay current with industry standards and practices.

Expanding Outreach by Collaborating with Key Industry Organizations

Beyond state-specific initiatives, the Code Council is working closely with the United Association (UA) and PHCC to extend educational resources to individual state chapters.

This collaboration aims to:

  • Strengthen relationships with UA and PHCC chapters.
  • Increase outreach to installers and professionals in the field.
  • Provide tailored educational resources that address the specific needs of UA and PHCC members.

Support Through the Code Council’s PMG Technical Resources Team

Partnering with the Code Council’s PMG Technical Resource Team offers numerous benefits, including:

  • Customized Training Programs: Development of state-specific continuing education programs that align with local regulations and industry standards.
  • Expertise and Experience: Access to a wealth of knowledge from industry experts dedicated to high-quality education and training.
  • Enhanced Professional Development: Opportunities for professionals to advance their skills, maintain certifications and stay updated on the latest industry trends.

All interested parties are invited to reach out and discuss how we can collaborate to support the continuing education and professional development needs of your state or region. Together, we can ensure that industry professionals are well-equipped to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.

We also welcome your participation with the ICC PMG Membership Council, an excellent resource to add to your ever-growing “toolbox” of information.
