International Code Council’s 2025 Annual Conference Pre-Event Guide
Here is a brief guide highlighting the major events and important details to help you make the most of your conference experience.
The International Code Council’s 2025 Annual Conference, Expo and Committee Action Hearings is quickly approaching! Taking place Oct. 19-30, this year’s conference will feature opportunities to network, educational sessions and the chance to learn more about the latest innovations and trends in the building safety industry. Committee Action Hearings for Group B #2 International Codes® (I-Codes®) will begin on Oct. 22 and wrap up on Oct. 30.

Lodging and Travel
All conference events will be held at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland, OH., unless specified otherwise. Attendees are encouraged to choose from four different local hotels for overnight accommodations, and the nearest airport is the Cleveland Airport.

Key Events
While the complete agenda can be found here, there are several fun and educational events to check out this year.
On Sunday, Oct. 19 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Past Presiding Officers of the Code Council will host the Annual Ron Burton Golf Outing at the StoneWater Golf Club. This event includes a number of sponsorship opportunities and funds raised will go towards training and resources for the next generation of code officials.
The Expo is set to take place on Sunday, Oct. 19 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 20 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature the latest products and services for the building industry.
Expo Talks is back again this year with several 30-minute presentations where attendees will learn about everything from AI in the industry to disaster planning. New to the Expo this year is the Technicolor Transport Challenge, a fun hands-on problem-solving event where teams compete to build a system to transport fluids to predetermined locations.
On Monday, Oct. 20 from 8 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. the Code Council will host our 2025 Annual Business Meeting. This event will include updates from association leadership, a keynote speaker presentation and voting for the Code Council Board Officers and Directors. View the meeting notice here.
Enjoy dinner while watching the installation of the newly elected Board of Directors and presentation of awards at the “Enchanted Night” Gala, taking place on Tuesday, Oct. 21 from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Throughout the week, the Code Council will also be hosting a variety of insight sessions and educational opportunities for attendees to earn CEUs and expand their industry knowledge. One session taking place on Wednesday, Oct. 22, is entitled “Hearings 101: Overview of ICC Code Development Process & Introduction to Committee Action Hearings” and is designed to prepare attendees to observe and participate in the Committee Action Hearings. There is also a new track specifically covering code enforcement, with topics ranging from search warrants to leadership strategies.

Local Attractions
With more than 50 exhibits and iconic memorabilia like John Lennon’s guitar and Jam Master Jay’s gold chains, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is an attraction you won’t want to miss. The Rock Hall also featured a variety of temporary, traveling installations throughout the year.
Additionally, the 95-year-old Terminal Tower, just footsteps from the Huntington Convention Center and once known as the largest building outside of New York, is a can’t-miss experience in Cleveland.
And roughly 10 minutes from the downtown area, University Circle offers attendees the opportunity to explore a world of art and culture in a world-class environment that contains some of the best healthcare and educational institutions in the world.
