Plumbing Manufacturers International Release Their 2024 Annual Report: Past, Present, Future

The Plumbing Manufacturers International (PMI) Annual Report, Past, Present, Future, provides a comprehensive overview of PMI’s achievements, ongoing initiatives and innovative strategies. The International Code Council is featured throughout the Annual Report, highlighting the collaborative efforts between the two organizations to advance water conservation, safety and sustainability in plumbing products and standards.

Key Collaborations and Initiatives

Key Code Council collaborations and initiatives highlighted in PMI’s 2024 Annual Report include:

• Water Efficiency and Lead-Free Products: PMI and the Code Council collaborated to enhance water efficiency and eliminate lead in plumbing products. 
• World Water Awareness Campaign: PMI recognized the Code Council’s World Water Awareness Campaign, which promotes global awareness and long-term water conservation efforts.
• Water Conservation and Codes Study: PMI highlighted the Code Council’s collaboration with the University of Miami on a study emphasizing the need for municipalities to adopt updated water conservation standards, as outlined in the 2021 International Water Conservation Code Provisions. 
• Sustainable Attributes Verification and Evaluation (SAVE) Program: PMI mentioned the ICC-ES SAVE Environmental Program which provides manufacturers with independent certification of their products’ sustainability, enabling the creation of Environmental Product Declarations. 
• Safe and Sustainable Cabinetry (SASC) Program: PMI mentioned the SASC Program by ICC-ES, which offers third-party verification for kitchen and vanity cabinets, ensuring they meet high standards for performance, sustainability and environmental responsibility. 
• Founding Partner of the Women in Plumbing and Piping (WiPP) Organization: The Code Council and PMI joined other industry leaders as a founding partner of WiPP. 
• Sponsorship of Elite Trades and Championship Series: PMI highlighted the Code Council’s sponsorship of the Service Titan Elite Trades and Championship Series and season five of Pfister Faucets’ American Plumber Stories. 
• Development of 2027 International Codes (I-Codes) for Water Reuse: PMI mentioned the Code Council’s Water Reuse Working Group, which is developing the 2027 International Codes® for water quality in direct water reuse in collaboration with various industry stakeholders.
