Call for Committee: Magnesium Oxide Board Consensus Committee (IS-MGOB)
The application deadline for the Magnesium Oxide Board Consensus Committee is July 17, 2026.
The International Code Council (ICC) is currently seeking stakeholders including, but not limited to, manufacturers, builders and government regulators to apply for the Magnesium Oxide Board Consensus Committee (IS-MGOB). Any stakeholder is welcome to apply, and ICC membership is not required.
The application deadline is July 17, 2026.
Once appointed, the committee will convene to develop the second edition of ICC 1125 -202X entitled, Standard for Classification of Magnesium Oxide Board and Construction.
Magnesium Oxide (MgO) board usage in North American construction continues to grow and an industry standard that establishes minimally acceptable performance levels to ensure proper MgO board performance in buildings needs to reflect the current state of the industry. The standard establishes the minimum physical board requirements for several categories of MgO board usage in building and construction (i.e. exterior sheathing, interior sheathing roofing, subflooring, roofing, tile backer, etc.).
