Help to promote Building Safety Month
The Code Council’s Building Safety Month campaign reinforces the need for adoption of modern, model building codes, a strong and efficient system of code enforcement, and a well-trained, professional workforce to maintain the system.
Code Council Region II, representing the member states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Idaho, is committed to recognizing that its growth and strength depends on the safety and economic value of the homes, buildings and infrastructure that serve our citizens, both in everyday life and in times of natural disaster. Region II submitted its proclamation for Building Safety Month 2019 and ICC Region II Board President Jack E. Applegate encouraged members to join with “Cuppy”, their local government and communities in preparation of Building Safety Month activities.
Out west in ICC Region II we have a long history of supporting building safety and protecting the places where our citizens and visitors live, work and play. Region II members across the great states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Washington, Washington and Wyoming join with the Code Council in supporting Building Safety Month and working to educate the public on the value of building codes and energy conservation.
All communities need building codes to protect their citizens from disasters like fires, weather-related events and structural collapse. Building codes are society’s best way of protecting homes, offices, schools, manufacturing facilities, stores and entertainment venues. Code officials work day in and day out to keep the public safe. This year, Region II members across all six states have educational activities and events planned to help promote building safety across the western states.
Please know you have the full support of Region II member chapters. Code officials across the region, U.S. and now abroad will join “Cuppy” in supporting this great event through local events, social media and the “Cuppy” outreach campaign. Thank you on behalf of the Region II members for continuing this great public safety campaign.
