Notice of 2026 Public Comment Hearing Schedule

The International Code Council has released the schedule for the 2026 Public Comment Hearing Schedule (PCH), which includes both Group A and Group B of the International Codes® (I-Codes®).  

The PCH will begin on April 19, 2026, at 1 PM ET, and will be held exclusively in–person, with a view-only online stream available for remote observers. 

Schedule:

• PCH Start Date: April 19, 2026, at 1:00 PM (ET) 

• Location: In-person attendance only; online viewing option available 

• Committee Schedules: Subject to progress and may be adjusted as required 

• Registration: Complete via ICC Leadership Week + Hearings web page  

The official hearing agenda will be published by March 4, 2026, and will be accessible from the Code Development Committee page.  Participants are encouraged to review the agenda for detailed information on code development committees and their respective scopes, including: 

• ADMIN – Provisions (Chapter 1 for all I-Codes except the IECC, and IRC) and referenced standards updates (multi-discipline committee) 

• IBC-E – Building Code – Means of Egress Committee 

• IBC-FS – Building Code – Fire Safety Committee 

• IBC-G – International Building Code – General Committee 

• IBC-S – International Building Code – Structural Committee (Includes structural provisions of IEBC) 

• IEBC – International Existing Building Code Committee (Excludes structural provisions) 

• IFC – International Fire Code Committee (includes International Wildland – Urban Interface Code) 

• IFGC – International Fuel Gas Code Committee 

• IMC – International Mechanical Code Committee 

• IPC – International Plumbing Code Committee (includes International Private Sewage Disposal Code) 

• IPM/ZC – International Property Maintenance and Zoning Code Committee 

• IRC-B – Residential Code –Building Committee  

• IRC-MP – International Residential Code – Mechanical-Plumbing Committee 

• ISPSC – International Swimming Pool and Spa Code Committee 

All interested parties are encouraged to consult the full schedule and agenda as posted by ICC for the most accurate and current information. The PCH will proceed with the next scheduled set of code changes upon completion of the preceding set.
