Public Input Notice for ICC 605, Standard for Residential Construction in Regions with Wildfire Hazard
In accordance with the International Code Council’s Consensus Procedures, the public comment draft #1 of ICC 605, Standard for Residential Construction in Regions with Wildfire Hazard, is available for public input for a period of 30 days starting Oct. 3, 2025
ICC 605 will specify advanced methodologies for wildfire-resistant design and construction for new and existing wood-framed, steel-framed, concrete or masonry structures in wildfire-prone areas. It will provide detailed guidelines for walls, floors, roofs, foundations, windows, doors and other construction components. Additionally, it will offer a methodology for identifying, assessing and retrofitting existing homes to protect against wildfire hazards.
