Village of Arlington Heights Achieves IAS Building Department Recognition
The Village of Arlington Heights is the first building department in the state to achieve the International Accreditation Service (IAS) Building Department Recognition (BDR).
Congratulations to the Building & Life Safety Department of the Village of Arlington Heights, Illinois, for becoming the first building department in the state to achieve the International Accreditation Service (IAS) Building Department Recognition (BDR).
The IAS BDR program is a way for local building departments and other agencies to demonstrate a commitment to service, safety and continuous improvement.
The BDR program is open to local building and code enforcement departments, as well as third-party companies providing building department services. BDR may be used as the first step towards attainment of IAS Building Department Accreditation and is based upon the Recognition Criteria for Building Departments, Code Enforcement Departments and Third Parties Providing Building And/Or Property Maintenance Code Enforcement Service (RC418).
BDR assessments are conducted completely online. Additional information regarding the IAS Building Department Recognition program may be found here.
