Call for Committee: Remote Virtual Inspection for Energy and Water Performance in Buildings Standards Committee
The application for the Remote Virtual Inspection for Energy and Water Performance in Buildings Standards Committee is June 30, 2026.
The International Code Council (ICC) is currently seeking stakeholders including, but not limited to, building owners, design professionals, program administrators (e.g. government agencies, utilities, home energy rating companies, and residential building energy performance organizations), building officials, state and local governments. Any stakeholder is welcome to apply, and ICC membership is not required.
The application deadline is June 30, 2026.
Once appointed, the committee will convene to develop the second edition of the ICC/RESNET 1450 Standard for Remote Virtual Inspections for Energy and Water Performance in Buildings.
ICC and RESNET have joined together in developing ICC/RESNET 1450 that provides guidance for implementing Remote Virtual Inspection (RVI) for energy code compliance and for building water and energy efficiency performance. It provides criteria for virtual code inspections conducted by performance raters for checking all aspects of permitted construction for compliance with energy codes and other energy-related applicable laws and regulations. The standard addresses using RVI to inspect a building’s indoor and outdoor water use performance as determined by standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 850 and to inspect a building’s energy use performance as determined by ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301 and the IECC.
