ICC-SRCC Director Prado Completes NREL Energy Execs Program
The program examines renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies
The U.S. Department of Energy National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) recognized ICC Solar Rating & Certification Corporation (ICC-SRCC) Executive Director Eileen Prado for completing its Executive Energy Leadership Program. She was one of only 21 leaders selected nationwide to participate in the 2015 Energy Execs program.
“Successfully finishing this prestigious program for leaders in the field of renewable energy demonstrates Eileen’s commitment to the solar energy industry and her dedication to serve as the executive leader of the only national certification program established solely for solar thermal products,” said ICC Chief Executive Officer Dominic Sims, CBO.
ICC-SRCC is part of the ICC Family of Companies. It provides ratings, certifications and standards for renewable energy products to provide guidance to code officials, jurisdictions and consumers. The city of Los Angeles Department of Buildings and Safety’s Mechanical Testing Laboratory recognizes ICC-SRCC as a listing agency for solar water heating products.
The five-month program offers executive decision-makers from throughout the U.S. an in-depth look at renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. As part of the experience, participants are briefed by NREL technology experts, tour research laboratories and visit renewable energy installations.
“Participating in the Energy Execs program sparked ideas we can put into action to further the cause to increase clean energy supplies, improve energy efficiencies through codes, standards and performance ratings, and continue to provide superior service to our customers,” Prado said.
Prado has been Executive Director of ICC-SRCC since 2010. She is the Outreach Officer for the Solar Heating and Cooling Council of the Solar Energy Industry Association, serves on the Global Solar Certification Network board of directors and a founding member of the Clean Energy Credentialing Coalition.
About ICC-SRCC: The primary purpose of ICC-SRCC is to provide authoritative performance ratings, certifications and standards for renewable energy products with the intention of protecting and providing guidance to consumers, incentive providers, government and the industry.
