The International Code Council announced that Aaron Davis, former staff director with the U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, joined the Government Relations department as the vice president of federal relations. As part of his responsibilities, Davis will head the Code Council’s federal policy and legislative priorities agenda while also enhancing its advocacy presence in Washington, D.C.

Davis brings extensive public policy background to the role, with more than two decades of experience across the legislative and executive branches. He comes to the Code Council from the U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure where he served as staff director for the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management. Davis also worked for the Federal Emergency Management Agency as director of the Congressional Affairs Division.

“We are pleased to welcome Aaron Davis to the team. His expertise and insight at the federal level will greatly benefit the Code Council and our membership,” said International Code Council Chief Executive Officer Dominic Sims, CBO.

The Code Council’s Government Relations department educates policymakers and civic leaders at all levels of government about the importance of building safety and building codes. The department works in collaboration with its members and stakeholders to support the adoption and use of the highest quality codes, standards, products and services for the safety of the built environment. The vice president of federal relations plays an essential role in helping the Code Council strengthen its relationships with key government decision-makers.

“Aaron’s work on Capitol Hill has always been first-rate. He is a fantastic addition to the Code Council family who I know will help advance our efforts within the executive and legislative branches and ensure a strong voice in Washington, D.C., for our members,” said International Code Council Senior Vice President of Government Relations Gabe Maser.
