ICC-ES PMG issues its first WaterSense certification for spray sprinkler bodies to Hunter Industries

The WaterSense program helps consumers identify water-efficient products and saves American families billions of dollars in water and energy bills

Brea, Calif. – The ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas (PMG) Listing Program issued its first listing report (PMG-1457) with the WaterSense certification for spray sprinkler bodies to Hunter Industries. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) WaterSense program is a voluntary public-private partnership that offers a simple way for consumers to identify water-efficient products. Products certified to WaterSense specifications helped American families conserve 2.1 trillion gallons of water and save more than $46.3 billion in water and energy bills between 2006 and 2016.

The ICC-ES listing report verifies that Hunter’s Pro-Spray PRS30 and Pro-Spray PRS40 Series comply with WaterSense specifications. Hunter’s 4-, 6- and 12-inch pressure regulated pop-up sprays are designed for commercial or residential projects. The test procedure for the certification is based on the Landscape Irrigation Sprinkler and Emitter Standard ASABE/ICC 802-2014.

“We are pleased to add the WaterSense certification listing to our broad range of products and services,” said ICC-ES PMG Director of Standards Maribel Campos. “We continue to be at the forefront of the industry in providing listings for innovative, efficient technologies, giving manufacturers piece of mind and saving them time and money.”

The International Code Council develops the International Plumbing Code and the International Residential Code, the preeminent model codes used in the U.S. and many other countries, which provide regulations for plumbing facilities in buildings and homes. As a member of the ICC Family of Companies, ICC-ES is broadly recognized by code officials, construction professionals and manufacturers as a leader in technical evaluations of building and plumbing products.

ICC-ES PMG provides manufacturers with code conformance listings and WaterSense listings simultaneously, quickly and efficiently. ICC-ES PMG also offers listings for water-efficient urinals, lavatory faucets, high-efficiency toilets, showerheads, spray sprinkler bodies and landscape irrigation controllers, in accordance with EPA specifications.
