Provide Your Support to the Local Community

This year, Women in Code Enforcement (WICED) and PermitTechNation (PTN) and the Code Council will team up to host the annual Day of Service (DOS) volunteer event in the local community.

Last year’s DOS brought the highest number of volunteers at the St. Louis Habitat for Humanity. Read more about last year’s event here.

As the conference approaches, more information will be available to sign up for this year’s event.

Keynote speakers for this year’s conference include Victoria Arlen, ESPN host, motivational speaker, paralympic gold medalist and author who will give her presentation during the ICC Talks: Inspiration and Innovation event on Tuesday morning, October 22.

Also speaking will be Erik Qualman, artificial intelligence and digital transformation expert, futurist and bestselling author during the Code Council’s Opening Session on Monday morning, October 21.

30th Anniversary Celebrations

In addition to the educational component, the Annual Conference will also mark the Code Council’s 30th anniversary with special celebrations.

Attendees can explore an exhibit featuring historical artifacts and memorabilia and participate in creating a time capsule to commemorate this milestone.

Check out the Code Council’s 30th anniversary website here.

Building Safety Leadership Experience

Attendees can apply for the Building Safety Leadership Experience, an opportunity to advance a career in building safety by learning about Code Council Governance through sessions at the Annual Conference with stakeholders and industry leaders.

Learn more here.

Code Council Expo

The Expo, running alongside the conference, serves as a platform for exhibitors to showcase the latest innovations in building safety technology and services. Attendees can engage with industry experts, explore emerging trends and network with peers during the event.

Additionally, this year’s Expo will once again feature the Headshot Café where attendees can get professional free headshots taken.

Committee Action Hearings

Following the Annual Conference and Expo, the Code Council will be hosting its Committee Action Hearings (CAH) from October 23-31. This year’s code hearings offer code officials, architects, builders, structural engineers, fire, residential and existing building professionals as well as those responsible for the administration of the International Codes® (I-Codes®), the opportunity to provide input on proposed code changes to the Group A I-Codes.

The code development process for the 2027 I-Codes introduces a restructured process starting in 2024 with two CAH for Group A Codes and followed in 2025 by two CAH for Group B Codes. In April 2026, there will be combined Group A and B Public Comment Hearings with a combined Online Governmental Consensus Vote in May 2026.

Please refer to the 2024/2025/2026 ICC Code Development Schedule for details on code groups and important deadlines.
