Recognize the outstanding leaders in your life
Every year the International Code Council presents awards to honor extraordinary individuals for their accomplishments and service to the Code Council membership and the building safety industry. The following awards have upcoming deadlines. All applications must be received prior to the deadlines indicated below.
Deadline of June 1, 2021:
The Code Council Board of Directors is requesting nominations for 2021 Honorary Members. An Honorary Member is a person who has rendered outstanding service to the International Code Council. The Honorary Member Committee will consider submitted nominations when compiling its list of candidates. To nominate someone as an honorary member, please email Karla Price Higgs, vice president of member services, the following information: Name, title, organization, and brief statement on why they should be considered for honorary membership.
The ICC National Leadership in Sustainability Award recognizes outstanding contributions to the growth and enhancement of codes or public policy advancing the principles of the International Code Council Sustainability Membership Council, in the field of energy efficiency and/or sustainability in the built environment. Self-nominations will be accepted. View the application.
The new ICC Trailblazer Award seeks to inspire the Code Council membership to reach out and serve as mentors to guide others in their code-related careers, especially those who are relatively new to the profession. The Trailblazer Award will annually recognize an outstanding example of a recent mentor-mentee relationship. View the application.
Deadline of June 30, 2021:
The International Code Council Global Award recognizes distinguished service to the global mission and vision of the International Code Council. The award is sponsored by the International Code Council’s Global Membership Council and will be announced and presented to the recipient at one of the events held as part of the 2021 Annual Conference. Deadline of July 1, 2021:
The Emory Rodgers Fellowship, in honor of one of the Code Council’s greatest mentors Emory Rodgers, is available annually to a building safety professional who has embarked upon a demonstrated executive-level career path and wants to further develop leadership skills through an eligible executive development program. Open application period:
The Innovation in Code Administration Award is sponsored by the Code Council Government Relations Department, the International Association of Fire Chiefs Fire and Life Safety Section, and the National Association of State Fire Marshals. The award recognizes building and fire departments for new and innovative approaches to delivering code administration services as part of their overall approach to community risk reduction.
