State AdoptionsThe North Dakota Legislative Assembly mandates that the State Building Code consist of the IBC, IRC, IMC, and IFGC. Energy conservation standards must be included in the State Building Code. Updates are assigned to the North Dakota Division of Community Services which appoints the North Dakota Building Code Advisory Committee to decide the updates. Local jurisdictions are expected to use the state code to make their updates.
