Member Feedback On The Code Council’s Strategic Plan –
The "Blueprint To 2015"
The ICC Strategic Plan is the mission critical document that keeps us focused on our members and dedicated to our mission. Our 2005 plan “Blueprint to the Future” was largely successful in guiding the ICC through the early years of our consolidation and helping us build a broader membership base. We remain firmly committed to the existing Vision, Mission and Values stated in the Blueprint to the Future, issued in August 2007, as we move forward into the planning and updating process. Within the context of these foundational statements, we invite a review of how the Code Council’s current status and capabilities can be best positioned toward a five-year strategic plan through 2015.
Accordingly, we would especially appreciate comment in the following key areas:
- Our Business Model
- Our Strategic Goals
- Our Strategic Objectives
Our Business Model
The changes that have impacted the global economy provide challenges to the non-profit, membership association community, as well as to stakeholders involved in building safety and sustainability. What is the path forward for the Code Council that both preserves our commitment to our members and protects our financial viability?

Our Strategic Objectives
Seven Strategic Objectives in the Blueprint attempt to articulate executable actions which move the Code Council toward achieving one or more of the six Strategic Goals. Which of these objectives remain relevant to the Code Council in achieving its goals for the next five years? Which objectives need to be updated? Are there new objectives which provide new and necessary elements to reach the Strategic Goals?

The Blueprint’s Value and Your Participation
The Blueprint functions as a point of reference and as a compass for the Code Council’s leadership at critical milestones in the life of the organization. The Blueprint serves as a reminder of the expectations of the Code Council’s members, and of the appropriate strategic guidelines which encourage focus and results in the pursuit of the Code Council’s mission. This strategic plan serves as a public statement and a public promise. Its ongoing development and review functions as a collaboration tool within the Code Council leadership and with the Code Council membership. Your contribution is essential to its ongoing value.
