Remote Participation Steering Committee
Last year, the Code Development Review Ad-Hoc Committee recommended to the ICC Board of Directors that the International Code Council explore how it could use new and emerging technologies to increase Member and stakeholder participation in the code development process, further strengthen public confidence in the codes and position the Code Council for the future of code development. ICC Board President Bill Dupler has established a steering committee made up of Board members, code officials and industry representatives to begin to develop and evaluate how to best accomplish this. The initial steering committee meeting will be held Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, in Chicago, and the group will meet monthly for the first half of 2012. This overall effort will be successful only with broad input from our Members and stakeholders, so this steering committee will be actively communicating its work with the Membership as the effort moves forward.
Steering committee members are: Wally Bailey (Chair), Fulton Cochran, Cindy Davis, Rob Drexler, Bill Dupler, Ayla Erfigen, Michael A. Gardner, Dwayne Garriss, John Leyden, Jim Olk, Ron Piester, Tina Rakes John Terry, Lynn Underwood and Jeff Whitney. Dominic Sims is the staff liaison.
