Guideline Development

ICC Guidelines are different from codes and standards because they are not mandatory. Guidelines contribute to the health, safety and welfare of the built environment by addressing subjects that are not adequately covered by existing technical information. The guideline development process begins with the identification and assessment of a proposed need.

List of Ongoing Guideline Projects

  • The ICC G2-10 Guideline for Acoustics Committee welcomes your input, which is an important step at the “Public Comment Draft” stage of the development of this guideline. The drafting Committee, made up of key stakeholders from both the private and public sectors, looks forward to your valuable input and contribution to this Guideline’s content. The document will be open for a 30 day period closing on April 22. The committee will review and consider all the input sent during this time period.
  • Update as of January 4, 2010
