Philadelphia and New York City Building Fires
The International Code Council was deeply saddened to hear the news of the two tragic fire incidents that occurred in Philadelphia and New York City in the past week. We extend our sympathy to the more than 30 people, including children, who lost their lives as well as those who were seriously injured. Also in our thoughts are the families, friends, first responders, our building and fire code officials, and the greater communities of all those who were affected. We remain focused and dedicated to our building and fire safety mission. To that end we have offered the full resources of the Code Council to assist city authorities in any way possible.
We join our national building safety and fire service partners in mourning those injured and killed in these heartbreaking incidents.
