Purchase Arkansas Codes

Arkansas adopts its building codes at the state level through the Arkansas Building Authority and other designated agencies, using the International Codes (I-Codes) published by the International Code Council (ICC) as the foundation. The Arkansas Fire Prevention Code, which includes the Building, Residential, and Fire codes, is updated on a three-year cycle to align with the latest national standards, often incorporating state-specific amendments for regional needs such as fire safety and energy efficiency. Local jurisdictions are required to enforce the state-adopted codes, although they may adopt more stringent provisions if approved by the state. This approach ensures a uniform baseline for safety and construction quality statewide, while allowing flexibility for local conditions.
