State AdoptionsConnecticut's state building codes are based on the International Code Council’s 2021 International Codes and references the ICC A117.1-2017 standard for accessibility. The codes are adopted at the state level and cannot be amended locally. The Codes and Standards Committee is responsible for reviewing new editions of the codes for adoption and for state amendments. The 2022 Connecticut State Building Code applies to projects with permit applications filed from October 1, 2022. The 2018 Connecticut State Building Code applies to projects with permit applications filed from October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2022. The adopted codes and cycles are documented by the Connecticut Office of the State Building Inspector.
