Maine
State AdoptionsMaine adopts the Maine Uniform Building and Energy Code; it is considered a statewide code. The code is adopted, and enforcement is required within all communities; jurisdictions with a population less than 4,000 must take official action if they wish to opt-in for enforcement. The Technical Building Codes and Standards Board has the authority to adopt/update, implement, and are required to provide training for all their codes. Maine documents its codes and amendments at: https://www.maine.gov/dps/fmo/building-codes. This includes the 2021 IECC "stretch" code.
