Part 1 – Design of Post-Tensioned Diaphragms

The webinar will cover the design of post-tensioned diaphragms highlighting the benefits of precompression to reduce or eliminate additional drag and chord reinforcement. A discussion of how concrete diaphragms should be model will be presented and how a traditional steel or wood diaphragm approach does not apply to a concrete membrane. Construction photographs and details will be shown to clarify the design intent.
