Antigua & Barbuda have implemented a 1996 version of the OECS building code. The building code is mandatory for new construction but is not made widely available or publicized. The full code must be purchased via inquiry to the Bureau of Standards (http://abbs.gov.ag/).

The Antigua and Barbuda Bureau of Standards was involved in the development of the CARICOM Regional Energy Efficiency Building Code, which is based on the International Energy Conservation Code and this code is in the process of being adopted and implemented in the country.
