The Bahamas Building Code was most recently updated in 2003 by the Ministry of Public Works & Urban Development, based on the South Florida Building Code, which is in turn based on the International Codes.
The Bahamas Bureau of Standards and Quality was involved in the development of the CARICOM Regional Energy Efficiency Building Code (CREEBC), which is based on the International Energy Conservation Code. The CREEBC is in the process of being adopted and implemented in the country.
