Belize

The Belize Building Act assigns much of the building safety responsibility to registered architects and engineers, and those professional associations use the IBC as their guidance.

A plumbing code is contained within the 2003 Water Industry Act.

The Belize Bureau of Standards was involved in the development of the CARICOM Regional Energy Efficiency Building Code (CREEBC), which is based on the International Energy Conservation Code. The CREEBC is in the process of being adopted and implemented in the country.
