National building standards are developed by the Ministry of Housing, Informal Human Settlements, Land & Surveys, and Physical Planning in Saint Vincent & the Grenadines. The 1996 version of the CUBiC Building Code developed by the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States was adopted in 2011.

The Saint Vincent & the Grenadines Bureau of Standards was involved in the development of the CARICOM Regional Energy Efficiency Building Code (CREEBC), which is based on the International Energy Conservation Code. The CREEBC is in the process of being adopted and implemented in the country.
