Suriname

Building safety in Suriname is the responsibility of he Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications (OWT & C). Suriname utilizes the 1996 version of the CUBiC code, developed by the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States.

The Suriname Standards Bureau was involved in the development of the CARICOM Regional Energy Efficiency Building Code (CREEBC), which is based on the International Energy Conservation Code. The CREEBC is in the process of being adopted and implemented in the country.
