ASCE 41 and the IEBC

The 2024 International Existing Building Code (IEBC) includes several provisions that trigger seismic evaluations of existing structures. When required, designers may follow the seismic provisions of the International Building Code (IBC) or elect to use ASCE 41-23, which applies performance-based principles to evaluate and rehabilitate buildings for earthquake resilience. This webinar will clarify (1) when seismic evaluations are mandated under the IEBC; (2) how ASCE 41-23 is applied, including its requirements and process; and (3) what documentation must be submitted to the authority having jurisdiction when seeking a building permit.
