Rocco Davis appointed chair of the IAS Board of Directors
Davis was selected during a period of change and growth for IAS, an internationally-recognized accreditation body headquartered in California
Brea, Calif. – The International Accreditation Service (IAS) appointed Rocco Davis as the chair of its Board of Directors. The IAS Board of Directors is comprised of members drawn from a cross section of agencies and industry that helps set the strategic direction for one of the leading accreditation organizations in the world.
2018 is a year of growth for IAS as the nonprofit changes leadership and expands into new markets. IAS works in over 40 different countries to provide independent verification that businesses, organizations and governmental entities are competent and comply with industry and international standards. Davis joins as chair at the same time as Raj Nathan, an expert in the accreditation field, takes over as IAS president.
Davis has served on the IAS Board since 2012 and was the vice chair for the past two years. Davis is vice president and regional manager of the Pacific Southwest Region of the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA), where he also serves as a special assistant to LIUNA’s general president. Previously, he served as a field representative for the Center for Contract Compliance, a regional coordinator for the National Heavy-Highway Committee, a LIUNA Tri-Fund field coordinator and a LIUNA chief of staff.
“With such an extensive history of building and organizing coalitions between community, labor and business, Rocco Davis brings a unique background to the IAS Board,” says IAS President Raj Nathan. “He is recognized for his dedication, hard work and devotion to the causes of workers everywhere and has been a valuable member of the board over the past six years. I look forward to working with him closely as we build our customer base, expand our offerings and move into new markets.”
Davis also sits as a trustee on the boards of numerous LIUNA national, regional and California trust funds as well as the Board of the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association. To read his online biography, click here. A photo is available here.
