Building Safety Month

Building Safety Month

Building Safety Month is an international campaign that takes place in May to raise awareness about building safety.

The importance of BSM for our industry partners:
The Code Council’s Building Safety month provides the opportunity
to showcase the benefits of ICC membership, the I-Codes themselves, the open process for developing those codes, the collaborative efforts of the many different stakeholders working together with ICC and recognition of the code officials who are responsible for enforcing those codes.

This exciting collaboration not only gives us the opportunity to raise awareness of the role building codes play in creating safe, sustainable structures; it also highlights the importance of individual jurisdictions in regulating the profession and allows us to further our mission of protecting the public health, safety, and welfare in the built environment.

All aspects of Building Safety Month are important. Whenever NAHB has the chance to highlight the importance of safety on the jobsite, we take that opportunity.
